For those of you who couldn't find the time to cook a package of Ramen noodles and bake a batch of donuts, your salvation has finally arrived: the Ramen donut or Ramnut.

On November 12, food blog Culinary Bro-Down published an article about the need and how to create a Ramen donut. "I want to do things that are unique, things that have never been done before, and whether they taste good or not is tertiary to the real goal of progress," wrote Josh Scherer, the 21-year-old UCLA student who prepared the dish. Scherer describes the process behind the ramen donut in energetic and hilarious detail.

"I'm Lewis and Clark and the ramen donut is my Sacagawea. No, that's not right. I'm Clark, the ramen donut is Sacagawea, and anyone who reads this post is Lewis by association. Or maybe I'm Sacagawea and the ramen donut is just a metaphor for the unexplored Pacific Northwest and the sense of Manifest Destiny that defined a nation but left ashes and ruin in its wake," said Scherer in his blog.

Scherer offers a recipe for the donuts on his blog post, and encourages readers to make their own instead of silently following his lead.. Check out the images above to see the Ramnut, and check out Scherer's blog for the recipe.
