SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Two people were arrested in connection with an early morning shooting Sunday in Sunnyvale that left one injured, according to the city's Department of Public Safety.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 400 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue around 3:10 a.m. today, police said.

Arriving officers found a 20-year-old man suffering from injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.

The man was treated at the scene and transported to a hospital, police said.

An update on the man's condition was not immediately available late this morning, Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Capt. Jeff Hunter said.

A preliminary investigation indicated that an argument occurred between people at two homes located across the street from each other, Hunter said.

The nature of the dispute is still under investigation, he said.

Officers set up a perimeter around the suspect home and ordered the occupants to step outside, police said.

Of the two who were arrested without incident, one was found with an outstanding warrant, hunter said.

The identities of the suspects have not yet been released.

Detectives are looking into the circumstances surrounding the shooting and investigators are collecting evidence at the scene as of late this morning, police said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety at (408) 730-7100.
