SAN JOSE (KGO) -- Police said speed and alcohol played a role in a Sunday crash involving eight vehicles that sent several people to the hospital in San Jose.

The San Jose Police Department responded at 9:28 p.m. to Ocala Avenue near Capitol Expressway after an officer saw a black Mercedes traveling down the road at a high rate of speed.
