SF Giants beat 49ers in Pebble Beach Chevron shootout
For the 6th annual Chevron shootout at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-AM the Giants beat the 49ers this year.

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- Many of the celebrities and sports stars who came in for Super Bowl 50 made the trip south for the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-AM, which begins Thursday.

San Francisco 49ers played San Francisco Giants players Tuesday for a full year of bragging rights; not in football or baseball, but golf. ABC7 News was at Pebble Beach for the 6th annual Chevron shootout. The annual event raises money for charity.

Former quarterback Steve Young played, of course, for the 49ers. He admits he was nervous. This was former Giants outfielder Randy Winn's first tournament, but he didn't seem jittery.

Winn told us, "This is fun. Whether I push it right in the trees or hook it or whatever, it's not going to have an impact on the amount of fun I'm going to have today."

The 49ers won last year, but they have been a bit busy this week with the Super Bowl in the Bay Area.

This year, the two teams split the first four holes and then rookie George Kontos and his teammate, Matt Cain, had two putts for the win and the Giants took the crown.

The Giants won $60,000 for their charity and the 49ers won $40,000 for their charity, so everyone is a winner.

Wednesday will feature the celebrity shootout.
