San Jose police investigate fatal stabbing

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Police in San Jose are investigating a stabbing that occurred Saturday morning and left one man dead and sent another to the hospital.

Officers responded at 12:41 a.m. to the 3200 block of South White Road on a report of a stabbing and located two men suffering from at least one stab wound each, according to the San Jose Police Department.

The victims were transported to the hospital where one was pronounced deceased. The second victim suffered injuries that were not life threatening.

Police said the motive for the stabbing is not known at this time, and no suspects have been located or identified.

Officers are at the scene and canvassing the area, police said.

The San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.

The identity of the deceased victim has not been released.
