BART running shuttle train between N. Concord, Bay Point

Commuters can now ride a shuttle train between BART's North Concord/Martinez and Pittsburg/Bay Point stations.

This marks the first train service between those two stations since a power surge on the tracks damaged about 50 BART cars last week.

Until Tuesday, commuters either had to ride shuttle buses or drive to North Concord/Martinez to catch trains toward San Francisco.

That disrupted many riders' routines. "It's been rough. I've been getting up at 3:30 every morning to get to work on time. I'm just exhausted," Antioch resident Liz Heffele said.

BART has brought in outside experts and high-tech equipment as it works to find the cause of the issue -- but so far, no luck.
