A skirmish between several pets at a popular park in San Francisco led a man to suddenly kick a dog that didn't belong to him.

Witnesses say it started with a few dogs, including a basset hound that got rowdy, but no dogs were bloody or bitten.

Witnesses say the hound's owner was upset. He reportedly grabbed a black lab's collar, even dragged the owner to the ground.

The video starts with a man pulling the guy in plaid away from the black lab at Duboce Park. Other dog owners urge him to leave. He started screaming instead.

"Take some responsibility for your dog, that's why I'm mad. That's why I'm mad," the man said.
The owner of "Otis" tries to lead the black lab away. The man slams his boot into Otis' belly.

"I was convinced he had broken the dogs ribs," said witness John O'Donnell.

Then another witness tackles him to the ground. The man eventually grabs his basset hound and leaves.

Corinna Lopez was there with her Great Dane. "It was definitely terrifying," Lopez said.

Hal Fischer can be heard on the video yelling at the man. "I walked right up to him and took his photo and said don't come back to this park," Fischer said.
Park regulars say they first noticed the aggressor because his basset hound wasn't fixed and that can lead to problems. However, Fischer says the skirmish between the dogs wasn't anything unusual.

"As soon as it started, it was all rarar, they all got their dogs. I can't tell you how many times that happens out here," Fischer said.

Many at Duboce are relieved to hear Otis is doing well. Still, the violent kick has people talking.

"I've been coming here for 30 years and I've never seen someone go that crazy over a dog fight," O'Donnell said.

San Francisco police are investigating.
