Indeed, if you're local and love NASCAR, this is your last chance to see Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He's the best known name in the sport.

Indeed, if you're local and love NASCAR, this is your last chance to see Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He's the best known name in the sport.

It is quite a spectacle - a traveling circus with 38 stops a year.

One of the features that makes this track different is the technical, uphill, infamous turn number 2.

At a press conference late Friday afternoon, Earnhardt described what he will miss about Sonoma Raceway. "We've had some rough days here. There are no bad memories that stick out because we never have high expectations. So when we have a bad day, it is easy to brush off," he said.

Earnhardt's best finish here is third place four years ago. After that one, he says he and his crew celebrated as heartily as if they had won.

We have to assume that's a compliment from the NASCAR's most popular driver and a two-time Daytona winner.

We shall see what the weekend brings and more than a few would like to see Earnhardt win.
