The family of a 20 year old woman is grieving Wednesday night as police in San Jose identified her as the latest homicide victim.

Myla Dang was just 20 years old. Authorities say the young woman from the Monterey area was found shot to death Monday.

Officers on Monday conducted a welfare check in the 600 block of S. 10th Street after reports of loud bangs coming from inside the home.

"The suspect is outstanding, he is considered armed and dangerous we are still asking for information on his whereabouts," Albert Morales with the San Jose Police Department said.

Police have not released a suspect description. A man who answered the door Wednesday said is a college student, and lives there with four other men. He said he does not know all of them and was not home during the shooting.

A neighbor who didn't want to be identified says she's seen a lot of traffic there. "They've had parties before, they've had a lot of people coming in and out all the time," the neighbor said.

Surveillance cameras in the area captured video of a group of men arriving in a car at the house at 3 p.m., just two hours before the homicide was reported. They left around 15 minutes later. Police won't say whether or not the footage was helpful.

Police served a search warrant on the home and are doing follow up investigation. They have determined the suspect knew Dang.

"Not random. We don't believe there is anybody in that neighborhood is in any danger, but obviously there is a suspect out there. The firearm is still outstanding," Morales said.

Anyone with information regarding the case should call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (408) 947-7867.
