Hip Chick Farms offers chicken nuggets tasting room
Two women who started selling their chicken nuggets in Whole Foods four years ago, have opened Hip Chick Farms where the kitchen is the first tasting room dedicated to their nuggets.

Chicken nuggets have been long thought of as a staple for kid's meals, but now they are proving to be a favorite for adults too.

Wine and beer are being paired at Hip Chick Farms and the kitchen is the first tasting room dedicated to chicken nuggets. Yes, chicken nuggets. "It's a dream come true. It's full circle," Hip Chick Farms chef Jennifer Johnson said.

Johnson is the chef at the kitchen and has worked as the executive chef for San Francisco billionaires Gordon and Ann Getty. Prior to that, she cooked at the world renown Chez Panisse in Berkeley.

The kitchen will feature products from Hip Chick Farms, and is the brainchild of Jennifer and her wife Serafina Palandech.

Jennifer and Serafina now raise organic chickens at a farm in Sebastopol. "We've learned how to raise animals humanely. We're really passionate about our humane standard of our animals," Palandech said.

Jennifer developed her unique recipes for chicken nuggets while working for the Gettys.

No dipping into sauce is necessary because it is already in the nuggets.

The two began selling their creation at Whole Foods four years ago, and next month sales expand to Walmart.

Hip Chick Farms' chicken nuggets will be available in 5,000 stores nationwide. "The foundation of cooking is simplicity, so this is as simple as it gets," Johnson said.

This past weekend, Hip Chick Farms new tasting room had its soft opening, with the official opening scheduled for August 11, 2017.

And so far, early reviews are good. "I've never liked IPA before, but this IPA and the chicken nuggets work really well together," Santa Rosa resident Naomi Hulsey said.

"Having a sauce already infused into the coating is just a great idea," Sebastopol resident Steve Mcknight said.
