SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- We've partnered with the team at Hoodline - the hyperlocal neighborhood website to find weekend activities in and around the Bay Area.

'Libreria Pino' Pops Up In North Beach

North Beach also known as Little Italy is where you go for pizza and gelato in San Francisco but now you can dive even deeper into the Italian culture.

An Italian language pop-up book store, called Libreria Pino, is now open in North Beaches Little Italy neighborhood.

Owner, Joseph Carboni's family is from Italy and he went to college in Rome, before returning to the Bay Area.

"My son went to an Italian pre-school, La Scoula, and that's where I was more exposed to how difficult it was to find Italian language books in the United States. And it occurred to me that since it's so hard maybe I should open up a store," said Carboni.

After running the business online for over five years, he had an opportunity try out a retail location last month.

"There's a lot of neighbors that have come by...that just want to stop by maybe speak Italian, pick up a Dr. Seuss book in Italian, talk to other people in Italian, and just you know be more exposed to the Italian culture," said Carboni.

You can get everything from the Harry Potter series to new releases, and films at the shop.

The physical location will be open through December and you can always visit them online.
