CONCORD, Calif. (KGO) -- U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Dylan Marler is preparing for his first deployment but he's hoping to find his missing dog before he heads overseas.

Marler family's dog "Pinky" is missing and he wants to reunite the 4-year-old Brindle-Pitbull mix with his wife and 11-month old son before he leaves.

Pinky isn't hard to spot. She has three legs, but gets around like a champ.

"She's my son's jungle jim, he loves climbing on her," said Marler.

He's searching near Meadow Home Park in Concord. That's where the dog was last seen on October 18 after the Marler's dropped her off with a friend.

There have been several sightings, as recent as Thursday morning, according to Marler. Pinky likes hanging around with kids but runs when an adult approaches.

A girl at the park told Marler she thinks Pinky is sneaking some of her dog's food out of their backyard.

Marler's wife and son have already moved back to Missouri to stay with family while he's gone, but not before plastering parts of Concord with flyers with Pinky picture on them.

He's hoping anyone who spots Pinky will try to hold her for Contra Costa Animal Services Department. But, hurry, he doesn't have much time.

If you find Pinky, please contact animal services at 4800 Imhoff Place in Martinez or call them at (925) 608-8400.
