DUBLIN, Calif. (KGO) -- Every day, more Californians are installing solar panels on their rooftops. It can be cost effective, and help the environment.

Installing solar panels may seem simple, but how much energy will the panels produce? It depends on the size and type of equipment you buy. One customer contacted 7 On Your Side's Michael Finney saying he didn't get all he paid for.
