STOCKTON, Calif. (KGO) -- A San Joaquin County man put his life on the line to protect his family after four home-invasion suspects broke into his home in an upscale neighborhood, northeast of Stockton Tuesday.

Carlos Soto, 24, heard glass break, his mother scream and came running.

The former college wrestler attacked the first guy he saw, knocking him to the ground, then took on the others, until they ran off.

Soto was shot in the leg but is going to be fine. The bullet went in and out without hitting the bone.

He says he'd do it again if he had to protect his family.
