Hayward police identify man killed while pushing baby in stroller
Hayward police have identified the man shot and killed while pushing a baby stroller as 29-year-old Daniel Deltoro.

HAYWARD, Calif. (KGO) -- Hayward police have identified the man shot and killed while pushing a baby stroller as 29-year-old Daniel Deltoro.

At about 3:00 p.m., deputies received a report that shots had been fired in the 200 block of Willow Avenue, sheriff's Sgt. Ray Kelly said.

Sheriff's deputies in Alameda County say Deltoro was shot to death Wednesday while pushing his 3-month-old baby in a stroller. His family says he was trying to turn his life around.

Deputies who responded to the shooting found Deltoro on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Kelly said.

Officials said the child was unharmed and is now in protective custody.

Investigators do believe that this was a targetted shooting. The suspects are still on the run.
