CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. (KGO) -- An arrest warrant has been issued for the husband of a Castro Valley woman who was found murdered inside their home.

Police now say 46-year-old Feng Mi is suspected in the shooting death of his wife, 45-year-old Yun Yi Zhang.

On Saturday, deputies said Mi was a person of interest in the case.

Neighbors report hearing gunshots at about 1 p.m. Two hours later, sheriff's deputies arrived at the house on Stanton Avenue after the couple's teenage daughter discovered her mother's body when she got home from school.

"I said to myself that sounds like a gun," neighbor Emile Lassalle said. "I didn't pay attention to it. One bang, just one."

Mi hasn't been seen since.

Police say he may be driving the family's 2013 silver Toyota RAV4. The car has paper dealer plates from Dublin Toyota.

Investigators say there is a history of domestic violence involving the couple. The sheriff's office has confirmed that they responded to the home three times in 2009 for domestic violence related situations.

They say Mi is considered armed and dangerous.

Their two children, ages 14 and 8, are now in protective custody.

Anyone with any information regarding Mi's whereabouts is asked to contact the Alameda County Sheriff's Office at 510-667-7721.
