Infant injured in East Oakland shooting
A 1-year-old boy was shot Thursday afternoon in East Oakland and received non-life-threatening injuries.

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Oakland police are investigating what they believe was the accidental shooting of a one-year-old boy.

The shooting occurred early Thursday afternoon at a home on 77th Avenue in the Eastmont neighborhood.

Investigators said the boy was outside the home with some family members when the gun went off.

The child is in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

So far, there have been no arrests. Investigators are trying to figure out who fired the gun and whether it was in the legal

possession of the person who pulled the trigger.
