Oakland police respond to incident involving possibly armed suspect

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Oakland Police Department responded Friday morning to a barricaded suspect possibly armed with a firearm in the area of the 1000 block of Seventh Street, between Market and Filbert streets.

Police have established a perimeter and are asking residents to avoid the area.

Police are asking commuters to use alternate routes for travel.
