PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Police are seeking a man who exposed himself to a juvenile girl in Palo Alto Monday afternoon.

Officers received reports from a 14-year-old girl saying she had just been the victim of indecent exposure in the 1600 block of Bryant Street around 4:47 p.m. Monday, according to Palo Alto police.

Officers responded immediately but could not locate the suspect.

The victim explained to police that a man in a like-new navy blue full-size pick-up truck followed her from the 1300 block of Bryant Street until she was in the 1600 block of Bryant Street, where the vehicle pulled up next to her and stopped.

When the victim turned to look inside the vehicle, she saw the suspect making eye contact with her and masturbating before driving off southbound on Bryant Street, according to police.

The suspect has been described as a white male in his mid 30s with short brown hair and a medium build, wearing a black V-neck T-shirt and black aviator-style sunglasses.

Palo Alto police say they will be increasing marked and unmarked patrols and are giving special attention to frequent school commute routes used by students.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Palo Alto police's 24-hour dispatch center at (650) 329-2413.
