Police searching for fatal shooting suspect in Vallejo

VALLEJO, Calif. (KGO) -- Police are looking for a suspect in fatal shooting in Vallejo. The shooting was reported in front of the Springstown Bottle Shop liquor store at 2154 Springs Road around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

The suspected allegedly shot a 19-year-old male victim in the head Tuesday afternoon and then fled the scene. The victim later died after being transported to the hospital.

"He had a wound to the dead. He was breathing but not moving," said Courtney Perdue,a witness.

The suspect left the scene before police arrived, which led them on a hours-long chase through the neighborhood.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find a suspect, who was described as an African-American or Hispanic man in his late teens or early 20s with dark, puffy hair and a thin build, standing roughly 5 feet 5 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, white t-shirt and blue jeans.
