SALINAS, Calif. (KGO) -- A 57-year-old man who worked with special needs children turned himself in to Salinas police Tuesday after he was identified as a suspect in the alleged sexual abuse of two minors, police said.

Adam Frogel went to the Salinas Police Department to surrender Tuesday and was arrested on suspicion of multiple counts of sexual crimes against a minor, according to police Cmdr. Vincent Maiorana.

Frogel was booked into the Monterey County Jail in Salinas and his bail was set at $500,000, Maiorana said.

Frogel had been a contract employee from the state of Florida whom the Monterey County Office of Education hired by contract to provide services for special needs children, police said.

According to police, Frogel is alleged to have had inappropriate sexual relations with two minor victims after school hours and at a location away from school property, Maiorana said.
