SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- San Jose police say a man stabbed his father in the South Bay at the Millpond Mobile Home Park on Mill Stream Drive around 9 p.m. Wednesday night.

The quiet senior mobile home park tucked behind Communication Hill was the scene of a fatal family dispute.

A neighbor said the suspect in the case would sit on his porch smoking cigarettes. She said he was friendly, but now he's in jail facing a homicide charge for killing his father.

Police say a man in his early 40s stabbed his father to death inside their home on Mill Stream Drive. The victim was in his 60s and the son's mother was inside the house at the time of the incident.

The suspect didn't run from the scene and waited outside the house where officers arrested him.

Police are not saying what led up to the violence. Neighbors say this is the first time they've ever heard of something like this happening here.

"I think four to five years ago there was a minor break in across the way over here, but that's been it. I'm not worried about it. This is a pretty good neighborhood," said neighbor Frank Figliolo.

This is the third homicide in San Jose since Saturday, the 14th of the year.
