SAN FRANCISCO -- A Whole Foods Market security guard in San Francisco is recovering after being stabbed by a shoplifter Monday morning.
It happened at 8:30 a.m. at the Whole Foods on Haight and Stanyan streets.
Police say the man filled a shopping basket full of groceries and walked out of the market without paying.
The guard tried to stop the man, but the shoplifter then slashed the guard with a kitchen knife. The guard was taken to the hospital.
Police found and arrested the shoplifter in Golden Gate Park.
