SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco's planning commission is set to consider new rules for medical marijuana dispensaries.

Under the proposal dispensaries would be allowed to move closer to schools, child care facilities, parks and recreational areas. Right now, they are not allowed within a thousand feet of those areas.

The new plan recommends creating a buffer zone of 600-feet, which is what the state requires.
