SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- A San Jose janitor is now in custody after being accused of having more than a hundred videos of child pornography on his home computer.

The suspect, 40-year-old Arturo Ruiz Perez, was arrested in Los Gatos, but police say he's currently being held at the Santa Clara County jail.

The Silicon Valley Internet Crimes task force launched an investigation into the San Jose resident. Authorities said they found more than 100 child-pornography videos, on a laptop that he had in his possession.

Officer Albert Morales with the San Jose Police Department said that the kids in the videos ranged from toddlers to the age of 12.

"Very disturbing situation, very disturbing case," Morales said. "I think we all understand that we hold our children near and dear to our hearts, and to know that there are predators out there that are exploiting the innocence of children, we have our detectives on this and are making sure that we conduct a thorough investigation."

The task force made the arrest Thursday morning at an office building on the 300 block of Dardanelli Lane in Los Gatos, where the suspect was working as a janitor.

Perez is officially being held on charges of possession of child pornography. Investigators are trying to determine if any of the kids in the videos are local.

According to online jail records, Perez's bail was set at $25,000 and he is set to appear in Santa Clara County Superior Court in San Jose on Dec. 1.

The task force, created in 2003, investigates child pornography facilitated by the Internet and cases of child exploitation and sexual abuse that resulted from contact on the Internet or other computer services.
