SAN FRANCISCO, Calif (KGO) -- Last November, San Francisco's Coit Tower closed for a much-needed makeover. Thursday, ABC7 News got a sneak peek at the work being done.

Artists are working to restore the historic Depression-era murals inside the building.

The $1.7 million project is the most extensive since the tower opened 80 years ago. It's expected to reopen by the end of April.
