Student's parents sue San Jose State University for negligence

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- The parents of a San Jose State University freshman who hung himself in a campus dorm room is suing the college for negligence.

The parents of Brenden Tiggs, 18, accuses the university of failing to identify warning signs exhibited by Tiggs before he took his own life.

San Jose State University rejected the family's initial $11 million claim.

Tiggs was found dead in his dorm in February 2014.
