SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A tip led San Francisco police to an illegal pot-growing operation in the city's South of Market neighborhood.

Undercover officers raided an old body shop on Howard Street and confiscated hundreds of small marijuana plants.

They also dismantled dozens of grow lights and other equipment.

The business did not have a license to grow medicinal marijuana.

Neighbors say they also noticed pot growing on the roof of the building.

Police are investigating whether illegal sales took place at the business.
