Los Angeles police responded to the call of a hot prowler in the 7700 block of Graystone Drive and set up a perimeter near Roscoe and Valley Circle boulevards.

The suspect led officers on a foot chase over steep and rugged terrain, at one point taking his shirt off as he ran through shrubs.

A K-9 eventually caught up to the suspect, who would not give up his attempt to escape.

After several nips and bites, the K-9, named "Don," lunged and began to pull the suspect down the steep hill.

The suspect tried to run again and the K-9 pulled him down one more time.

Officers were eventually able to surround the suspect and he surrendered.
