Sheriff's office to auction off rug with regrettable canine typo

LARGO, FL -- A regrettable typo on a mat at a law enforcement office in Florida could have readers asking is the official motto of the United States, "In God we trust" or "IN DOG WE TRUST"?

According to a tweet by an area reporter, the new bright green, blue, gold and black mats are largely correct, but one mat carries the canine typo.

The rugs are now being sold in an online auction. The Sheriff's Office says it will donate 100% of the winning bid to Canine Estates Inc., a local animal rescue. Bidding will close at 4:00pm, Wednesday, January 21, 2015.
