BURLINGAME, Calif. (KGO) -- A handful of Peninsula pet owners had to temporarily house their pets with the Humane Society after Wednesday's rainstorm forced them into temporary shelter themselves.

The Humane Society says they took in four dogs and a cat.

Their owners were evacuated from two mobile home parks Thursday night and went to the Red Cross shelter at the College of San Mateo, which didn't allow pets.
