A baby wombat orphaned when its mom was hit by a car in Australia has found a new family.

The wombat, named Little Jack, suffered from a brain injury and a misaligned spine because of the crash and had seizures for two days. The animal was rushed to the hospital where ACT Wildlife volunteer Lindy Butcher decided to nurse Little Jack and has been caring for the animal around the clock.

"He is now developing normally and a source of great entertainment," Butcher said. "He requires four-hourly bottle feeding round the clock and depends on me for all his needs."

After a month of treatment, the wombat was given a clean bill of health, according to the ACT Facebook page. Butcher said he intends on caring for Little Jack until the animal is ready to be re-released into the wild.
