Sheriff K9 sworn in as comfort animal for victims
K9 Pilot was sworn in by the Douglas County Sheriff's Department

Like all deputies, K-9 officer Pilot the Labrador had to be sworn in for his new position at the Douglas County Sheriff's Department in Colorado.

Pilot will serve as a comfort dog in the department's victim assistance unit. He will work with Debbie Doyle, who has been serving Douglas County as a victim advocate for 18 years.

"His mission is to be calming to individuals," Doyle told KDVR. "To give somebody, somebody they can trust, that they can stay with."
