Photographer Johnny Joo captured these haunting portraits of the abandoned Rolling Acres Mall in Akron, Ohio, now covered in snow.

Rolling Acres Mall was a major shopping hub in Akron, Ohio from 1975 until its closing in 2008. But now, the mall has transformed into a winter wonderland.

Photographer Johnny Joo captured the stunning images above after the abandoned mall was hit by a snowstorm. In the photos, you can see snow drape the escalators as faint glimmers of sun peek through the glass windows above, creating a surreal, urban winter landscape.

Joo captures eloquent portraits of abandoned buildings in places on his website Architectural Afterlife. The photographer's photos of the abandoned Pontiac Silverdome in Detroit made national headlines in 2014.
