SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco may soon be within reach of ending chronic homelessness among veterans.

Mayor Ed Lee announced on Wednesday that he will propose leasing a building, located at 250 Kearny Street, to house homeless veterans.

It's a 136-unit building in the Financial District. Lee said it will put the city closer than ever to its goal of ending veterans' homelessness by the end of next year.

Airbnb has pledged money and volunteers to help get the building into shape.
