SAN DIEGO -- Around the time Michele Wilcox Tietz was walking down the aisle, she says someone else was walking into her bridal suite and stealing from her.

Now the newlywed is on a mission to find out who it was, and she's using social media to do it.

"What type of person [lies] in wait to steal a bride's wallet while she's getting married? I feel disheartened and sickened," she told KGTV, the ABC affiliate in San Diego.

While Tietz was saying 'I do' at her wedding ceremony at the Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook, Calif., her wallet and purse -- including her credit cards -- were stolen out of the bridal suite, she said. The thief acted fast, making $1,400 worth of charges on the bride's credit cards in just over an hour.

With the sheriff's blessing, Tietz posted surveillance images on her Facebook page with a public plea for help.

"Does anyone recognise this person? Please share," she wrote in the post.

The post picked up steam quickly, Tietz said.

"By the time I woke up in the morning, I had 385 shares, a lot of inboxes with some leads -- none of which have panned out yet -- and just a lot of attention," she said. "Nobody believes that somebody would take it from a bridal suite."

In the photos Tietz shared, she says you can see her wallet in the alleged thief's hand.

"That is actually my wallet that lady has in her hand," she said. "That wallet my husband bought me for Christmas last year and it has all my information in it, including the card she's using."

Fortunately for Tietz, the thief did not take off with everything, and nothing she took was essential for the couple's plan to travel to Canada.

"My passport, my checking book and my cash was all intact in my suitcase," she explained, "so we were able to take our honeymoon that very next day."
