Snacking shark steals the show at fishing tournament

This hammerhead has a hankering for the spotlight. And, of course, for some tarpon.

The members of Team Caragiulo Restaurant were competing in the White Buffalo Tarpon Tournament off the coast of Florida when they got up close and personal with this 12-foot shark, who wouldn't let them hold on to their catch.

After spotting the huge shadow lurking under their boat, they free-spooled the fish so it would have a better chance to get away. They also stuck a camera underwater and caught some pretty crazy footage.

Their tarpon, unfortunately, was no match for its giant predator. Looks like Shark Week came early this year.
