What Really Matters: Keeping the Super Bowl Hassles in Perspective
Dan Ashley tackles the naysayers on the big game.

Nine days from now, more than 100 million people across the country will be watching Super Bowl 50. The biggest sporting event in America will also showcase the host city. Even though the game itself is in Santa Clara, the rest of the action is in San Francisco such as Super Bowl City near the Ferry Building and the NFL Experience at the Moscone Center. But amid the hype and the hoopla, there's also a fair amount of grousing in the city such as complaints about the costs, the street closures and the traffic. It's aggravating. But it's also a privilege. We can and should be proud to share our community with the hundreds of thousands who will come in person and the tens of millions who will visit through the television. What Really Matters, is that it is also an opportunity to share what makes our home so special with the world.

Each week, ABC7 News Anchor Dan Ashley offers commentary on the important issues affecting people where you live.
