KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Chiefs tight end Anthony Fasano caught a remarkable touchdown pass in Sunday's victory over the New York Jets at Arrowhead Stadium.

With the Chiefs at the Jets' 2-yard line, Fasano missed his attempted cut block and fell to the ground. Meanwhile, quarterback Alex Smith's pass was deflected by linebackerCalvin Paceinto theair and right to Fasano, who caught the ball while still on the ground.

Fasano then lunged into the end zone for the touchdown, which was upheld after a video review.

"I'll probably never get one [that way] again," Fasano said. "You don't draw it up like that."

Smith said that the touchdown was more than a fluke play, praising Fasano's effort.

"You'd like to think it comes from playing hard and aggressive," Smith said.

The play gave the Chiefs a 13-0 lead. Kansas City went on to win the game 24-10, sending the Jets to their eighth straight loss.

"I thought it was typical of how this season's gone for us,'' Jets coach Rex Ryan said of the play. "That's what I thought.''

For the Jets, it was another embarrassing "butt" play. In 2012, they introduced "Butt Fumble" into the sporting vernacular, when quarterback Mark Sanchez ran with the ball and crashed into the rear end of guard Brandon Moore. The ball was jarred loose, and it was returned for a touchdown by the New England Patriots.

The slapstick play symbolized a chaotic 2012 season for the Jets, who turned their quarterback position upside down by trading for Tim Tebow.
