OAKLAND, Calif. -- As tickets for Golden State Warriors games in the 2015-16 season are set to go on sale to the general public Wednesday, the team is asking fans to be wary of buying tickets from a non-verified third party.

Fans can start purchasing single-game tickets at 10 a.m. Wednesday, but are encouraged to purchase them directly from the team by visiting their website or calling (888) 479-4667, team officials said.

During the 2014-2015 season, about 1,650 fans were denied access to Oracle Arena because of counterfeit tickets purchased from third-party vendors, according to team officials.

Fans who wish to purchase resale tickets should do so through the Warriors' official resale marketplace, where ticket holders and other fans can resell tickets that are guaranteed by the Warriors organization, team officials said.
