OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Are the Oakland Raiders really considering a move to Texas or is it just a little posturing to get a new stadium in Oakland? Either way, the silver and black is making news and making fans and officials nervous.

This wouldn't be the first time a sports team has used San Antonio to leverage a deal with its home city, but some Oakland leaders believe the Raiders are serious and it's no secret that Raiders owner Mark Davis wants a new stadium to replace the aging coliseum.

Last week in Texas Davis took a photo with former Raider great Cliff Branch and influential former San Antonio Mayor Henry Cisneros. Davis met with San Antonio leaders to discuss moving his team there.

However, Cisneros' son-in-law works for the Raiders and Oakland has not reached a deal to keep the NFL team in Oakland.

Oakland City Councilmember Noel Gallo said, "We haven't really gotten down to the concrete needs in terms of the organization, the stadium and other requirements that they're looking for."

However, Oakland Mayor Jean Quan believes a plan to develop 130 acres of shoreline property, including a new Raiders stadium is too hard for Davis to turn down, not to mention the market size compared to San Antonio.

Quan said, "We're in the sixth largest, not the thirtieth, the sixth largest media market. So I actually think we're going to have a deal here in Oakland."

The Raiders tweeted Davis was "... with some of the city officials while we were in town. I have nothing further to discuss on the topic."

Still, Oakland wants to discuss more, especially since its deadline to sign a deal with the Raiders expires at the end of October.
