SAN JOSE (KGO) -- Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes are ushering in a new era with their new stadium.

A ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Friday afternoon to unveil the new $100 million dollar Avaya Stadium, which is located near Interstate 880 and Highway 87.

The Quakes will have a soft opening on Saturday for a preseason game against its Southern California rival, the L.A. Galaxy.

The official unveiling is scheduled for March 22. And a sold-out home opener against Chicago.

The partnership is one of the richest in major league soccer. The Santa Clara tech service company will pay $20 million over 10 years for naming rights to the stadium.
