BART service recovering after delay in downtown Oakland due to disabled train

SAN FRANCISCO -- BART service is recovering after a major delay was reported early Friday morning in downtown Oakland due to a disabled train near West Oakland Station.

The transit agency issued an alert at about 5:35 a.m. about the service delay, which was affecting trains in all directions through downtown Oakland.

Around 6:45 a.m., BART said service was recovering.

Further details about the disabled train were not released immediately.
