NAPA, Calif. (KGO) -- There are new details in the saga of Napa's missing moose tree.

Someone has replaced the stolen moose-shaped branch with a paper mache moose head.

The unusual-looking tree has become a cultural icon, with people painting the moose different colors during big events.

Napa's famous moose tree is painted in support of the San Francisco Giants.

But, as we first reported on ABC7 News on Friday, it was sawed off and stolen on New Year's Eve.

The owner of Downtown Joe's hopes someone will turn it in -- no questions asked -- so he can mount it on the wall for the entire community to enjoy.
