Alex Trebek renews 'Jeopardy!' contract

LOS ANGELES (KGO) -- Alex Trebek's future as a game show host isn't in jeopardy. Sony Pictures announced on Thursday that Trebek has renewed his contract through the 2017-18 season.

The signing ends speculation that the 74-year-old might retire.

The Hollywood Reporter says Trebek will earn $10 million a year.

He's hosted "Jeopardy!" since 1984. The long-running show can be seen Monday through Saturday at 7 p.m. on ABC7.
