SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- A San Jose pet shop is offering a guarantee of "no questions asked" in exchange for the safe return of a stolen guinea pig.
It appears a group of teenagers swiped Jenny from her display at Andy's Pet Shop on Notre Dame Avenue two days ago.
Jenny came to the shop along with her companion Rose after being rescued from a local animal shelter.
One of the teens mentioned something about breeding Jenny with a similar-looking male guinea pig.
"Jenny is an elderly guinea pig about 5 years old," store manager Anboyln Thoel said. "She's what we consider to be a senior. If they do try to breed her she's probably not going to make it through delivery of the babies. Her and the babies will probably die."
The folks at Andy's Pet Shop urge the people who have Jenny to drop her off at any animal shelter or veterinarian's office.
