California Pacific Medical Center Thursday showed off the city's first pediatric emergency department.
The ER has smaller equipment, wheelchairs and blood pressure cuffs.
The department also has "kid helpers," staff trained in how to explain to kids what is happening to them, taking some of the fear out of what can be a frightening experience.
