"I'm still on cloud nine, it's exciting, real exciting," said Guerrero. "It hasn't sunk in yet. I'm still kind of in disbelief."

Guerrero had something to prove in this fight as some were questioning his heart. He was cut in his last two fights and called one off. It happened again over his left eye in the seventh round by a head butt, and he had to be thinking, not again.

"Right away what went through my mind was like, it's time to shine. Here's the cut, there's a lot of questions and a lot of doubt in people, now it's time to show," he said.

And show he did. He pounded Klaussen with 1,200 punches during the 12-round fight to the head and the body, which wore the South African out.

"Yeah, a lot of people underestimate the power that I have," he said.

Klaussen had some power, too, evident by Guerrero's two black eyes.

"I'm proud of these, I won the world title," said Guerrero.

He was inspired by his wife Casey who was at the fight after battling leukemia into remission the past year.

"Having Casey at the fight cheering me on, I mean it's awesome," he said. "It's kind of like a Cinderella story."

"The Ghost" wants to unify the titles in his division in his next few fights, but for now...

"To be a three-time world champion, first time ever in the history of the Bay, it's awesome," he said.

"The Ghost" -- you can't hit what you can't see.
