Eric Brewer, 20, will stand trial in San Mateo County Superior Court for possession of a gun on school grounds, possession of a concealed firearm and possession of a loaded firearm, three separate counts that could land him in prison for up to three years if convicted.
He had also been charged by the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office with being a gang member in the commission of a felony, but that charge was dropped at his preliminary hearing today.
Brewer was shot in the buttocks at about 1:30 p.m. Sept. 2 in a campus parking lot. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital and released within the week.
Police believe an altercation between two groups preceded the shooting but have not arrested the alleged shooter.
Four prosecution witnesses testified at the preliminary hearing today, as well as two defense witnesses, according to Assistant District Attorney Karen Guidotti.
Brewer is scheduled to return to court Dec. 2 for his Superior Court arraignment. He remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail.
