Officers responded to calls reporting a shooting at around 10:30 p.m. in front of a home at 713 Devonwood, Hercules police spokeswoman Michele Harrington said.
Arriving officers found a man in a vehicle suffering eight gunshot wounds, Harrington said. The victim had apparently just arrived home when he was shot.
The victim was taken to Doctors Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses told police a suspect was seen who was described as male, around 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing around 170 pounds.
The victim's identity has not been released.
